Daughter in Silhouette

I thought the community would appreciate this photo that I drew on top of and ran through a ton of filters. Most people know me as a cartoonist, so they also know that I don’t normally start my work with photos for my art. But this image was too remarkable to pass up. It began as an actual shadow that appeared on our wall through the open balcony window. It was a fantastic, fully formed shadow scene. The person whose silhouette you see is my youngest daughter, but it reminded me very strongly of my oldest one, even though she is over halfway across the country.
