Drawing an Album cover for a metal band
A quick run through on designing an album cover.

A design I worked on over a year ago that was based on a scene of a brutal dystopian future and cyber organic warrior-like sportsman dominating a pack of competitors as he is reaching for a ball like an opening ruck.

The artist was a fan of arcade sport games like Speedball and Mutant League, or to a lesser degree, Warhammer Bloodbowl.

.
I combined some architectural elements from the Roman Colosseum, trying to reinforce that this was a barbaric spectator sport.

I like all the elements that you put here, the spikey ball, the modern helis, all the people fighting and jostling to reach for the ball. I love that the bottom of the album was reddish and you managed to transformed into pale blue colour at the top gracefully.
