PENCIL: Vader's Disappointed Padawan
Did you watch the final Star Wars: The Clone Wars? What a great piece of animation that was. I couldn't help but notice Ashoka and her sad eyes which inspired me to pick up the pencil again.
I also read an article by Tom Chapman on CBR.com titled: Darth Vader Is No Longer Star Wars' Most Popular Character You can read it here:

It just mentions how Baby Yoda and Mando are in the top places along with a few other of the new characters. I was a bit disappointed not to see Ashoka on the list. She is a great character, a badass warrior, and someone with true honor.
After a rough trace of everything with a dull pencil, it was time to sharpen up and start sketching her beautiful, but sad eyes.
She is a tragic character. I feel sorry for her. She was once a student of the chosen one only to see him turn into Vader, be betrayed by the Jedi, and even her own soldiers.
Drawing a face that was inspired by animation is fun. You can add a bit a realism to the eyes and lips riding off the coattails of the original artist, but still making an improvement.
Even when she knew she was going to die and that her stormtroopers intended to kill her, she showed her integrity and decided NOT to kill any of them.
I love throwing in a sketch to the iPad and using the digital erase tool. I think it's because I remember messing up sketches erasing the smudges damaging the paper.
I thought I could use the bucket fill paint tool to fill in the black parts...
But it did everything.
I went back a few steps, but the digitally altered eyes were too much.
Did you like the pencil sketch or the iPad version? Who is your favorite or overlooked Star Wars character?
