Pencil Anime Sketching Art #44: Step-by-Step Tutorial

Anime sketching is one of my stress reliever whenever I want to space out from school paper works or everything that can make you tie up.

If I had the change to draw or sketch anime behind my books or notebooks. I would do it, even if the instructor or other stuff in front of me. It’s kinda bad but I want to express my boredom from sketching. Hahaha!

Well, I try to draw one of the anime characters from animated series Naruto. She’s one of the characters. I’m not fan this anime series but she’s familiar, so I tried to draw her. And this is it! I hope you like it. Godbless!

I put some details for sketching this anime. You can grab this materials:

• Paper
• Pencil
• Eraser

Here’s the process:

1. Draw the pattern first for the head. Sketch the shape of the jaw and cheeks. Then draw a circle (Pardon, I’m not that symmetrically and any shapes. Hahaha) above what you sketch of shape of jaw and cheeks. And then, draw the cross-sectional pattern inside.

2.Trace it, draw the hair first. Then, follow the horizontal line of cross-sectional line—right side, draw the eyes and eyebrow. For the left side of horizontal, draw the ear. Trace the jaw.

3.The circle you made, that’s the pattern of the head. You can follow the circle for shaping the head. Add some details for head hair, and draw the ponytail, just draw the hair until the neck.

4.Draw first the scarf, make it lightly first so that you can easily erase the details that you don’t want it. Draw a little circle for shaping the shoulder and draw parallel lines for it. Draw the shape of the chest.

5.Trace what you sketch, you can add more details now.

6.Erase the patterns. If some parts are erased, you can trace it again and darken it more. Trace again everything. Highlight some parts like the scarf and her cloths. And estimate the parts you should put shadowing and trace again.
