Painting Pebbles - Part 1
I get asked for 'process' tips and videos so often that I'm now starting to film myself painting whenever I remember to set up and switch on the camera! Many of the requests relate to my handmade Said In Stones decorative pebbles and pendants and how I paint them. So here's a little speed-painting video (4x speed) showing me working on some of them.
The music in this video is me singing and performing one of my own compositions, 'Soft', with help from my friend and longtime collaborator Nira Amba of Ape Recording Studios in Derby...

These little stones are a huge love of mine: the polar opposite of painting splashy abstracts, I guess. The precision and focus required to paint them is a discipline all of its own; and the painting process is incredibly meditative for me. I love both the stones and my paintings on canvas or paper equally, and these current works in progress are some of my favourites ever. You can see more of them either on my jaytaylorart Instagram feed, or their own dedicated Said In Stones Instagram.
For anyone that's interested in buying them, I always have a selection of them for sale in my store on Etsy.* I am also really happy to sell direct to people, either via PayPal or even using payment in Steem, so if you see something you like that's not listed in my store on Etsy yet, just let me know and I'll make arrangements to get them sent out to you.
I hope you've enjoyed this post As an independent creative and unschooling Mama, sharing aspects of my life and work makes me feel more connected to other free thinkers and creative people in the World…Your support, kind-ness and appreciation of my always-original content are most welcome!
