"Magic Waterfall". How I Found The Lost Trail And Opened The Rusty Gate Of Childhood.
Do you remember that feeling when you were a kid? When every moment was sparkling with the limitless possibilities. Anything could happen because Unknown wasn't banned so Magic could come in. There was a long period in my life when I thought I've lost it forever. I've completely forgotten how it felt, that joy without explanation or reason.
Detail of the bottom section, and the key player in the story of Magic.
But then, it paid me a visit again. Very brief visit. Nonetheless even that short moment was enough to put a mighty crack in the construct I've came to accept as my “reality”. That million-lines program we all write in the software of our minds over the course of our life and somehow forget to question it, to doubt it. In that place of black and white there's only concrete walls thick as book of human laws and running deep as injustice it brings.
What brought me back that blessing was nothing more than painting. Once I've learned to relax around the creative process, and forget all about the result, I've unleashed a pendulum of a massive battering ram. It thundered into the fortifications of the castle of mind labels, breaching it just enough that magic of the Unknown could squeeze through.
Step one, quick outlines of an imaginary waterfall.
There is no such thing as ordinary. If you strip away the sticker you've come to label any given thing, person or situation with, then you've conquered time. You've stepped into the eternal Now where everything is innocent and fresh again. You have found the way back through the almost imperceptible trail in thorny bushes and turned the key of the rusted gate of your abandoned childhood.
There is no mistaking when you're in it. Piss smelling wall in a dark back alley sparkles with more excitement than day dreaming about how you finally gonna become rich. Any tree is a living creature with lifetimes of stories and every dusty corner is a potential battlefield of musketeers.
When you step through that mystical doorway, any place, person or situation beholds the key to wonders of childhood that you've once possessed. You see the world though your heart again, the grey blanket of past has been removed.
Step two: all the players of the game or on place. Now I have to only work the colors and light.
And so this painting came to me. In such a moment of grace, when my body remembered how it feels to be child again. All the money in the world cannot buy such feeling. It is pure as thin air in Himalayas and fleeting as a gazelle in savanna grass. The boy at the bottom of that waterfall is inside every single one of us.
The final rays of light just brought it to life. So happy about the final result!
Just for today, try to remember how it felt when you were a child. When Unknown held one of your hands and Magic held the other, and you danced the day away with the fairies, from moment to moment, one step at a time.
Much Love,
Jan

Amazing artwork as usual! And some good words to go along with it, brings back memories of me when I was younger exploring the creeks and waterfalls.
You're probably my favorite painter, there's one other I like a lot.. So it's kind of a tie between you and him, but.. Each picture of yours I see is just so well done. Massive props to you. I think you have some really unique and special talent.
