"American Dream and Mystical Journey", original art - You Know Why We Cry When We Are Born?

in #art8 years ago (edited)

I decided to publish these two seemingly unrelated paintings together. The truth is, they are bound together by our very human destiny.

"American Dream", oil on 32x32inches canvas.

To begin with, they are exactly the same size – 92 x 92 centimetres.

One shows how America looked like before the arrival of European colons. You know, totally boring place. No highways, no Coca Cola, no skyscrapers, no supermarkets. Who would have lived in an unexciting place like that? Maybe some introverted nature lover? Maybe an artist? Maybe someone with different goals then material enrichment? Who knows, one can only guess by now, because that place, as we all know, is long gone.
We have a merciless (but just?) justice system, ever-growing tax system, thriving prison industry and a very democratic government, that makes it seem almost impossible to come back to a more simple, harmonic way of life where “economy” is not determined by consumerism at the expense of the very cradle that created us- Nature. To get out of rat race and still thrive is no small feat. Many fail and vast majority does no even try. Better live in mild fear, a mediocre little life of complacency and obedience, than dare to lose the little you have. Better betray the dreams we had as children. They are childish after all, right?

But maybe there is a way out. Maybe there is a way out of everything at any time in any give situation. And maybe even the darkest of the dark has been created for the purpose of bringing us back to the light.

You know, I have had some pretty intense mystical experiences in my life. And I am not talking about doing drugs and going to places. Mushrooms or ayahuasca, DMT or weed, you name it. I am talking about states of being where my mind ceased to exist and I melted in ocean of bliss where human intellect and “fear mentality” was an altogether laughable concept. And I've lived this sober. No substance whatsoever. Nada.
One experience like this changes you forever. And it also fucks you up a bit, because all you want to do for the rest of your life is come back to it. Nothing, absolutely nothing we are chasing here as substitutes to happiness (money, social status, fame), can compare to it. Not by very very very far. It's a bitter sweet curse.

"Mystical Journey", oil on 32x32inches canvas.

You know why babies cry when they are born? Have you ever asked yourself the question why we don't come to this world laughing and all joyous?

I'll tell you why. Because when you're in your mom's belly, you don't live in duality yet. You are in Unity with existence. You are bathing in that ocean of bliss we all come from. You are a perfectly alive intelligent being, but you are not separate from Universe, God, Being, Manitou, Allah call it what your particular social conditioning taught you to call it. The moment you come out of the womb, that unity is broken, you lose the most precious thing you ever had- Oneness with Creator. And your first cry is that of a wounded, abandoned, confused little man- “Why??? Oh why?? Why have you abandoned me?”

And we spend our lives trying to get back there, back to that feeling of bliss, that every single one of us intrinsically remembers. But we chose the wrong way to get there. We chose the American Dream instead of the Mystical Journey.

I have faith, that one day, we will change our path and cease the chase of substitutes. That path is inside. Nothing outside of you can ever lead you to that bliss, because that Bliss is your default, your birthright, your essence. It is who you really are before you “became somebody”.

If you just dare to be rebel enough, brave enough, to slow down, and be patient, and look at your deepest fears and memories with love and acceptance.

One day. We will not fall in love. We will RISE in Love.

Much Love and Light on your journeys,
Thank you for reading and for following me,

Bless you all,
Jan

Journey back. Never give up!

Rising in love with you brother, does one ever really lose it or anything? Is this possible or is this simply the illusion of separation itself? I and I pose with you that oneness exists in the duality of physical world for without this consciousness how does one perceive the separation to begin with?

"To be in this world and not of it" perhaps is less an ideology and more so a reality. Your works all ways speak to me from your connection to source. This I appreciate about you and the light that you are and share.

Wholeness.

Thanks for your comment brother @kenistyles. Of course the separation is ultimately an illusion, but it can be very tangibly experienced as anything fear-based , which is the whole of this amazing Maia (about to crumble anyways). Of course there is Oneness in duality , but who lives that EVERY MOMENT on physical level (yes enlightenment is a physical phenomenon !) rather than an interesting mind construct? Very very few at this point. Many more to come, as times condenses and accelerates, since the end of Kali Yuga. The time of collective karmic purification is just around the corner, so is the coming back to Oneness not as a concept or memory, but everyday reality. Much Love and Thanks to you!

Wholeness @jankasparec, indeed the illusions are fading away. May we continue to guide each other home, in every moment we are the power of self realization expressing from our infinite oneness. You are it! <3

Good works man. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks man. Appreciate your words

Great work!

Thank you for reminding me that my most natural state is bliss. I really love your posts. They are so uplifting. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you dear @sumsum, your presence is deeply appreciated!

Beautiful paintings,Jan! I'm so glade that You've experienced this transformation sober, I think it's the only right way, without ''shortcuts'' because with ''shortcuts'' You can't learn anything, just became addicted to the ''shortcut''. To be honest, I find the painting ''American Dream'' beautiful too and would like to see Americans dreaming that dream of fresh air, free & untamed nature, sunny meadows... :D And I disagree with You that nothing outside can lead you to that bliss as, for me, I'm in that blissful state when I'm gardening, painting, listening to music...that connection inside+outside, spiritual+material is what can make me feel that pure happiness. Permaculture made me believe that the future is better then present, not worse... Much Love, bro!

Thank you sister @oceansoul. I have expressed myself in hurry and yes you are right. What I meant is that anything outside of yourself is not THE thing we're seeking, but it can definitely lead you there. As one great teacher said, even an misinterpreted spirituality, approached with honest intention, will eventually lead you to the final goal (absorption of Self into Universal Truth). Anything can lead you there, if your perseverance and purity of intention meets divine grace. The path itself will eventually be transcended in the final phase. Buddha said" My teachings are like a raft that can take you to the other shore. But sadly many mistake the teachings for the shore." Much Love and Light sister!
