When she told me "it's ugly" - Why I never stop drawing, keep going!
Hello to all the Art lovers and Artists here on Steemit! I'd like to share this negative experience and how I turned it into something good.
When I was really young, me and my older sis and brother would watch anime.
We always drew the characters along with our favorite video game characters from Chrono Trigger.
I was around 5 years old and I enjoyed drawing. My sister was always better than me at drawing and whenever I tried to draw, she would often say its ugly. or hers was better.
we were just children that time but it did hurt me and it stuck with me. At school, I was in first grade, I won third place in a school contest. It made me draw more and I did draw pretty well especially in art inclined subjects.
When I was 18 I was enrolled in fine arts class and improved even more. Now I draw better than my sister. She still does paint well. Not that I'm putting her down. it's just ironic.
I made this when i was 8 :) for my mom so she could give it to Dad hahaha
My advise, never let anyone tell you that you can't draw! always find ways to improve :)
There will be days you expect too much from yourself and get disappointed with the outcome.
You are your worst critic but keep your art
and when you look back you see your growth as an artist.
You will get it right :)

It is robably because I'm your declared fan. But there is something in your drawings that attracts me. Even in those jobs at an early age.
I do not know if the quality of the stroke. Or colors. Or that there is always something of nature.
I still do not figure out what is your special ingredient that catches me every time.

I somehow relate to your sister, hehe I was like that to my sister. She drew an anime character and saw her potentials pero nagstop siya like di na siya nagdodrawing. kaya ginawa ka nagdraw din ako gaya ng anime character na kinopya niya then gave it to her. So mean. Yes, But I think I did the right thing, somehow. Haha. Her works are so good na. I always tell her to be humble and draw and draw and draw. Naging sideline pa nga niya. Inggit si ate. Haha.
But anyways, your works are really nice!! Two thumbs up!! Tapos nag fine arts lalong na enhance yung talent mo.
