Rooster Chinese Painting: A sign of Honesty and Fortitude
The Rooster
A symbol of Honesty and Fortitude. One of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals.
This is painted by the member of the Lim Family in one of their workshops.
I would love to share my first Chinese Paintings in a workshop held by the Lim family.
Chinese paintings are beautiful! They are single strokes from a paint brush that form their subject.
I love how this art style embodies their culture.
Materials
- Chinese paint brush
- Watercolor or acrylic paint
- Any kind of paper (for practice)
- Watercolor paper (for formal pieces)
The Artwork
This is my art! 🐔🐔🐥
The concept of the art is stroke by stroke.
There are books that have paintings that you can follow.
They also taught us through showing us how to paint
Pinetrees
Bamboo
Lim 2013
We also tried different subjects we could think of.

It was a very enjoyable time for us all!
Have to thank the Lim family!

I have always loved this style so much with the single brush strokes. I have also very much enjoyed the rooster energy that has been with us over this year.
Very nice!!! Thanks so much.
Yes chinese paintings are very unique
They sure are. I have always been drawn to it somehow. I hope to visit China some time. I have studied an old form of qigong from Hunan for many years now and would especially love to go there.
Qigong!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!! Me too i hope to go. I can speak chinese and my grandpa is Chinese. I also love kung fu
Yes! I love qigong! I practice a very ancient (oral) tradition that was passed down throughout a lineage and who has some teachers here in the US. It reminds me of a time that feels like "home" some kind of way.
That is so great you can speak the language. I am fascinated by the culture and traditions of China. I have several friends who have been learning Mandarin, but I haven't attempted that at this time. Perhaps when I visit one day it will be a time for immersion!
Do you practice kung fu?
OMGGGG awwww i love china. The food culture and Kung Fu. Good for ya. No i dont know kung fu but i tried to learn basic hwing tsun hand drills and basic techniques on self defense but im no martial artist. Just a visual artist hahhaha
Ill post some basic chinese lesson if u want ill post it here on steemit. U can try :)
