Pen sketches of Deborah and Glenn🍓

🏹Process:

• Sketch
• Ink and crosshatch
• Shade with graphite pencil
• Shade eyes with green
• Use white pen for highlights

Lightness of the hand is necessary, it includes:

• Tilting the pen for lighter strokes
• Fast strokes for thinner shades
• The more pressure the darker
• Use different pins to accommodate your shading gradation (optional)

My sketches

The roughness doesn't matter. It is Artistic in its own way.

This angle I like a lot:

The eyes need to be alive! For they are the windows of the soul.

Make sure you put shadow on the white of the eyeball and it's like making it grey.
Then put color if you like and shadows.
Lastly add highlights by erasing some parts of the shading or using a white pen.

What is most attractive about eyes are the light it reflects, they are like the jewels of the human body. 💎

Purpose of Sketching Practice

Here are the following reasons why I decided to sketch:
🍓 1. Practice accuracy in a less time consuming way.
🍓 2. To be creative with lines, shading and hatching.
🍓 3. Working with a much simpler method but a bigger task of making it beautiful.
🍓 4. Exercises my artistic intuition on improving my command of the basic elements.
🍓 5. Capturing expressions and the likeness of the subject.

Sometimes the basic things can be the hardest to work with.
It's like making a delicious meal with a few ingredients.
It's like wearing the simplest clothes but pulling it off.
Here, we use simple lines of one color, one medium on a simple surface.

HOW To make it look good, is up to you.
