The Egyptian culture contains many mysteries, it was a civilization that made great advances in medicine and managed to create impressive buildings. Inspired by the Egyptian pyramids, I decided to draw one of these, I wanted to make a different drawing, and I thought of a three-dimensional (3D) model. Here I show you the final result, and later you can see the process.
Materials
-Paper sheet.
-Graphite pencil.
-Draft.
-Rule.
I started by tracing the shape of the pyramid using the ruler and the graphite pencil. I marked the dark lines because from there the rest of the drawing would emerge.
Then I drew the horizontal lines that would be the blocks of the pyramid. For this I also used the rule, in order to draw straight lines well defined.
In this part I began to shade a face of the pyramid with the graphite pencil, this part would be the darkest, since the light is focused from left to right of the drawing.
I continued with the shading process, this time on the other side of the pyramid, lessening the pencil to obtain a lighter gray tone.
After having the shaded pyramid, I dedicated myself to draw the lines of separation of the blocks. These blocks have different sizes that give texture to the drawing.
Then with a thin eraser, I eliminated some graphite on the edges of the blocks to give it light. In this part I was very careful when erasing, so as not to damage other parts of the drawing. I also made the shadow of the pyramid that is reflected on the floor.
With a medium draft I defined the silhouette of the shadow better, since I realized that it looked more aesthetic with a pointed shape. After having the desired shade I remarkedr with the graphite pencil to accentuate the dark tone more. Finally I cut the page to give it a three-dimensional effect. Here I show you the finished drawing.
Final result
Drawing in three dimensions is really fun. This is my first drawing using only graphite pencil. I have been happy with the result, and I hope that you also liked it.
