Start of my drawing journal in Steemit : Part 1 & social contract
Drawing journal, Part 1: Introduction
I began thinking of different ways I could contribute to Steemit community as I, for the first time in my social media history, want to be an active member instead of just a bystander or a lurker. I blame Ned and Dan for coming up with this brilliant platform we all know as Steemit and at the same time thank them for this opportunity.
As you read through this post you can see my short journey as a drawer from my oldest works to the newest one, that I made just for this post! But first, the one I've put most work into:
Little info about this work
I was having one of those nights where I wasn't getting sleep, I had enough of rolling around in my bed and just got up and decided to start drawing. Now I have to mention, that before this night I had only drawn once before in my freetime, about year or two before this work. That drawing can be seen next, below. So no, I'm not experienced at all, which I'm sure can be seen in my work but I'm here to improve. Let's continue. I had a pencil, paper and picture of Chloë Grace Moretz in front of me which I was trying to replicate. The hair and hat that can be seen partially is straight from that picture. The face itself doesn't look like the original piece but I was satisfied! I used my camera phone to take my work from paper to photoshop, where adjusting light levels and all that fancy stuff was easier. Just move sliders until you're happy with the result! The work however is not finished, but I tend to leave things unfinished and after all these years it this piece has been grown to be finished to me.
Starting is the hardest part
We all have things that we have wanted to try out, things we kind a like but really haven't put in the effort required to really start enjoying the hobby - We could be talking about coding, singing, dancing or drawing. Just to name few. Maybe there hasn't been time, life can be busy after all or you have just been looking for that extra motivation or kick to help you start on your journey - a fellow friend could inspire you to finally start singing or a workmate commenting how you really dance well at some party could be the little push needed to finally start a journey you've always wanted to start.
That something, as you might guess by now, is drawing to me. I have had hours of video material of how to draw sitting on my computer for who knows how long, I just never got started with it. No time or energy : the usual excuses we so often cling to. The hardest thing is starting - we all know that. Not once have I regretted after a jog, but boy do I have hard time going for one. The feeling is mutual here.
Steemit enters the picture
That is why I'm using Steemit to my leverage, I tried to start a journal in Instagram with this same idea but now as Steemit has entered my life I might as well move the project over here. I will be taking requests on what to draw but I probably will be only doing a one drawing per week for the start, just to not promise something I can't deliver.
And my newest drawing for just you guys:
As you can see, there is a lots and lots of room for improvement. Hopefully as I've made this public posting I can keep myself on a tight leash and actually get some drawings out there as practice is the key to success!

I love your art! Is gorgeous! Followed!
Thank you so much! I'm out of words, just smiling.
Accidentally while still making the post, I clicked enter and my post was submitted. What a horrible accident! Well it's out in the wild now - The starting point is not so good, but let's see where we are in a year!
Oh gosh! You can make edits to it can't you?
Luckily my post was almost ready so editing it didn't take too much time, still, it wasn't a nice feeling when you realized what had happened! I was going to do some more work on my newest drawing before posting (the last one) and some additions but now it will also be an unfinished work, suits my style, hah.
Also editing your post counts as submitting a totally new one and there is limit of four posts/day before your rewards are getting penalized, you can correct me in the number, might remember wrongly so one has to be careful with that.
I will however put a lot more work in to my next post and drawing, let's see what I can come up with. First finished drawing ever perhaps?!
wow you are very talented. Congratulations!!
Thank you, I can assure you it rarely feels like that. There is so much to learn and improve on. And this post, hopefully, marks just the start of my journey as a drawer.
