Wisdom - old man portrait pen drawing
Sharing with you today a pen portrait drawing of an old man and process.
Starting with the eyes,
I find starting with the eyes is a good place as it is a natural focal point. Humans look eyes first as the natural focal point of the face.
Done!
He has quite a sad expression in his face almost like he's thinking about something painful to him. I went with quite fast pen strokes and cross hatching technique for the shading. It took me about 2 hours to do. The lighter tones required just a few lines while the darkest tones required many in several directions.

Ugh, eyes are the hardest part for me when drawing. Getting the outlines and forms, no problem...but those details :\ Great images! Thanks for sharing :)
