Original Monet Styled Oil Painting + (process photos)

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Hi steemians sharing with you an oil painting I did of one of Monet's pieces as part of my project.

Author: @iansart
Time: 2-3 hours
Medium: Oil on paper

I was inspired by the movement in the original piece I saw in the Musee d'orsay and wanted to capture this in my own piece. I began with basic tones and built up a few more on top through the process. I learnt this can be a problem with oils because they take so long to dry and can create quite a messy look when tones blend. I think its better to paint many tones at first and avoid blending them until the very end if that is your style.

Here is some of the process that went into it.

I love how you broke down the process. I might give oil painting a shot. Beautiful art piece.

You should it's a nice medium to work with.

Nice piece of work @iansart, and to say that you only spent 2 to 3 hours on it makes me think that you could be better than monet if you put more time into it.
Nice work :D

Thanks! :)

your welcome :D

Very poetic and it seems to me a bit ... sad
