Hi there, today I would like to share a charcoal side portrait I did of a woman and a bit of the process.
I began a simple pencil outline to get the basic proportions. I then added the most light and dark areas and making sure there is contrast in the piece.
From there I added a few more tones to shape the face including much darker blacks. I used a brush to smooth out the tones a little in the face.
It was done on A4 paper and didn't take too long about 30 minutes.
