Portrait Study in Oil Painting
Self Portrait that I made using oil paint. The human anatomy is complicated, yet beautiful. It's always composed of combinations of colors and not just brown and white. It's very difficult to master, but very satisfying if you do.
Painting a self portrait is also a great thing: You will learn something about yourself and you also get to appreciate yourself. Plus, you don't have to pay someone to pose for you.

Wow, this is really good. How did you learn to draw like this?
I went to art school (Meaning, 8 hours of drawing everyday!). We learned about techniques and all that stuff. But don't worry though, if you want to learn to paint like this, you have to practice and believe in yourself. Also there are lots of tutorials on Youtube and on the internet as a whole so that would be a big help, too! Thank you for appreciating my work!
Have you thought about uploading tutorials of your work here? That could be really popular on this platform.
I do post a step by step guide but not to the point of a detailed tutorial. Maybe soon :D

This is beautiful! Out of curiosity and if you don't mind answering, what art school did you go to? :) How much time did you take for painting this self-portrait, and did you take a photo or use a mirror? :)
I went to University of Mindanao here in Davao City, Philippines. It took I think an hour and 30 minutes for this one to finish. This is just a 1x1 ft. canvas so it's just pretty small haha! I used a photo for this one. :D
