It's quite chilly nowadays. It even snows! Snow is pretty rare here in Osaka, where is relatively warm and dry in Japan.
As I have no energy going out, I keep practicing drawing on Illustrator CC.
The main subject of this work was eyes. The iconic, glassy and shiny eyes of girls from anime. I try to express it with combination of several vector shapes;

1. Set iris color and basic shade.

2. Put a pupil.

Using Shape Builder Tool.

3. Put a shadow layer of iris.

4. Put another darker layer for iris.

5. Put highlights.

You can combine light blue and white so that it looks shinier.

6. Other highlights on the lower-left part.

It's actually pretty fun to think how I can represent glassy/shiny things combining vector shapes. Of course there must be much better ways to do that, so I'd appreciate any bits of advice! :)
