We evolve to fight | Entry for ART EXPLOSION WEEK 49

My parents once told me stories of fantasy and fiction, wonderful cosmic fables where we knew the space and the other inhabitants in it; with these stories I went to sleep every night. Until one day, these stories came true, there I realized that they were not wonderful or fantastic, it was and still is a nightmare of terror.

They arrived in a starry night, what everyone thought was a nice meteor shower, really was the terrible arrival of these beings; we don't know their names, we tried to communicate, but they just attacked and dominated. Our weapons were ineffective.

The brightest minds claim to be conquerors, their only purpose is to colonize and enslave. They have polluted our world to the point of making it nothing more than a dry land, but that is not all, if only that were all. Somehow they have altered us, many of them were sick and they have infected us, that ends up with a large part of humanity, but many of us survive and change.

This virus has mixed with our DNA, making us mutate, in the best of cases it has only improved our physical abilities, but others only keep their humanity in their spirit, since their appearance is none that we have seen, many of us forget what our limbs looked like before, the virus has given us more powerful arms, some to the point of being purely weapons.

Perhaps our human appearance is only a memory, but our instinct for survival and struggle is still intact, the virus that does so much damage to our oppressors has now mixed with our bodies and we are ready to take revenge. Their mistake was to pretend to colonize our world, even though they have exterminated and enslaved millions of us, we are many more who resist and are willing to give battle, now we are stronger, we evolve.
