Fantasy clothing // Cosplay - Cinema - Theater - Photography.
The spectrum of the arts is composed of a large number of disciplines which converge within the same creative principle of innovation, transporting the viewer to the vision or message of the artist, which consequently has to amaze or entertain the artist. Because of this the creator has to nurture his performance through certain multidisciplinary elements, thus promoting the aesthetics and correct interpretation of his work, this exercise is clearly noticeable in theatrical, cinematographic or photographic manifestations, since many of these practices coexist within the same mechanics of composition, colorimetry and manual labor.
That is why the setting plays an extremely important role within the various areas mentioned above, since such enrichment beyond allude to a script or a composition previously worked, this is responsible for moving the idea of the creator to a real plane and palpable, and although all this work certainly goes unnoticed by the common spectator, this is precisely what is sought, naturalness, ease and aesthetics, but nevertheless we have asked ourselves sometime how is this possible?

Within the cinematographic field, the correct use of visual elements such as makeup or costumes is essential, which transcends much beyond the science fiction genre, since unlike a literary work, the format of the seventh art can perfectly recreate what was imagined by man using graphic or plastic arts, including any other resource derived from the creative process, which I will talk about later in the post.
The decorative elements must also play an important role in the work, and is that often unique pieces are created to enrich or stylize more the audiovisual production framework, so the use of plaster moldings or even gadgets created in base existing compositions are recurrent practices in the fantastic representation of the seventh art, as seen in science fiction styles such as the steampunk who abstracts elements of the Victorian / Edwardian era to give life to their own stream of ideas.
As mentioned, to recreate this creative framework is necessary to address various disciplines such as tailoring and textile clothing in general, so that the craftsman can recreate such clothing based solely on their design criteria, approaching as much as possible to the vision given by the author of the theatrical or cinematographic work, adding to it a makeup team which has to provide the final finish to the clothing.
The graphic design and animation tools are also present within the setting to create certain elements under the premise of the latest technologies in terms of render engines, 3D modeling and printing, being easily implemented after a painting job, polished and assemble if this requires it, and is that 3D printing offers a world of possibilities only limited by the knowledge and creativity of the graphic artist in question.
Certainly mockery, pointing and criticism are actions linked to the ignorance and ignorance of a particular area, such is the case of cosplay, which may seem at first glance an activity where rare boys meet in a specific place to fulfill fantasies associated with the feeling of feeling like a superhero or video game character. However, by looking more closely we can meet a group of people who develop and design their own clothing and internalize a character without having studies or practice in areas of performance or theatrical expression, so that this activity is developed under certain disciplinary criteria.
When I inquired about this practice, I found Svetlana Quindt's channel who carefully shows the creative process to correctly develop a cosplay, occupying 3D printing, modeling, knowledge in textile confection, pattern making and a great capacity for analysis and observation. After completing her piece of clothing, she has to model and implement photo retouching techniques to end her work at the moment of making the viewer amaze, it is worth noting that a large part of the work is built with quite affordable materials, demonstrating once more than the ingenuity prevails before any type of limitation.
Svetlana beyond owning a youtube channel quite rich in cosplay content, also has a Patreon page and its own website called Kamuicosplay where you can buy your books focused on making cosplay costume that currently has different volumes. Being a clear example that every discipline has a lucrative boom within the broad spectrum of the current labor market, being solely our responsibility the position or approach that we take in front of this.
