Somehow, I think the non-animated composition on this one is nicer and more elegant than the animated version. When animated, the foreground seems too static but the background seems too staticky. I feel like if there must be animation here, the artwork may lend itself better to slow transformations of the mass in the foreground (maybe some rotation of the long threads?), as opposed to a flickering of black and white pixels in the small holes of the background.
