📷 🎨 My obsession with stones
I love stones. I collect stones. I photograph stones. I paint stones. I balance stones. I used to be stoned.
Here are a few examples how I used stones as references for some of my paintings:
Flying Stone, 1990
When I'm done with painting stones I'm balancing stones...
You can see more of these --> here
When I'm done with balancing stones I jump into the green cold river...

I share this passion.... I love these paintings, I love stones! amazing work!
Thanks @Romanie!
Funny listing - especially the last ;) But what I really want to say is that it´s very interesting to see how you use those reference photos for your paintings, how a small detail turns into a main part.
Thank you @sigrid.nepelius!
you are an architect also !! what can you NOT DO or BE ? thank you for this post. Here is a suggestion for you if you do not have it already : this wonderful ORACLE (tarot reading, you do know, right ?), called "la pierre des philosophes, available in english) : http://cerine-caudron.e-monsite.com/pages/presentation/pierrephilo.html

Thank you Bella!
Stunning stones <3 They really are so special and I can totally see your worlds in them and all of the women hiding in their veins :)
Thank you @shlomit!
My garden is full of stones I've collected over the years, some are so big that I barely can lift them! :-)
Abgefahren gut - wie Du die Steine in deine Bilder integrierst -
coole Sache -und die Zeichnungen sind ja alle "Gric-isch" geil :-)
must resteemed:-)
Und ich sage abermals danke Yoogy!
And when you're too tired, you could use a procedural stone generator :)

Excellent specimens, interesting how weathering makes the most unusual and visually compelling surfaces.
I always wanted something like that! A couple of years ago I've also tried a program which is generating erosion and wasn't actually so bad, but my computer had difficulties to handle the immense 3D output files because I always tend to get the resolution of everything beyond the limits...
