There is opinion that there is a link between the high intelligence and suicide. When someone is more intelligent he face the challenge of greater difficulties in his life.
Animals rarely commit suicide. Why we do it? Perhaps the reason lies in the fact that we are the only beings who are aware of their mortality and responsibility for their own survival.
A few hundred years ago life was different. More simpler. Our sense of individuality has been far lees developed that now. For example, if you were born into a carpenter's family, you would probably also be one.

The individual solution was not particularly popular, instead, each individual was part of a group - family, caste, and had a social and workplace that was rarely a matter of choice.All we have to do is act as it is prescribed.

Slowly, human society has evolved to such an extent that today we are accountable for our own destiny, we are told that we can be anything we want, as long as we do our best. With the emergence of this responsibility, for many people life became much more difficult and unpleasant. Freedom can become a burden.

The freedom of choice places all the guilt and regret of the failure only to the individual. In the old Indian caste system, for example, suicides are almost non-existent. The main concern of many people there was to find food and shelter. People did not have time to deal with depression and suicide.

Today every intelligent person faces the scale of the range of opportunities as his disposal. This leads him to see the many delusions of society, the futility of our routine existence, and the real value of things that must of the people values so much.

Social development directly affects emotional development, which relates to your ability to deal with risky or stressful situations. Your emotional development is also strongly influenced by you relationship with you parent as you grow up. Bad experiences and bad relationships lead to greater distrust and misery in life, and even suicide.

Hemingway is the perfect example of this, whit its unknown number of unsuccessful romantic relationships that it has aimed to fill the void in life and reduce its misfortune, which ultimately has led to suicide.
