The Undefeatable Young Lads (handcut collage 100/70cm)
I created this artwork two years ago to be the poster of the theatrical play titled "The Undefeatable Young Lads" at Athens, Greece. It was a comedy about three superheroes fighting the supervillain and save their city from disaster. A simple plot but very interesting because the actors used hand gestures, body language and music to tell the story.
The sad thing was that they did not use it in the end. It was a little over the top and too dark to be the poster of a comedy and i admit that. I went over the top and they wanted sth simpler and more striking

Absolutely love it! The expressions on their faces, the life in their bodies, all of it reminds me of how slow and heavy I've been feeling lately. I want some more verve like this! Inspiring art!

I was a little sad at first but we worked out in the end. These things happen sometimes.

i think it's pretty great. they wanted something more striking? i can't imagine it being more so than that!
though i get that it may not convey "comedy" in the way they wanted. either way, beautiful piece!
IThank you very much:)The problem was that they told me to do whatever i want and i did!hahaha! Last year i did two other posters for the same theatrical group and came out great and they use them. Of course they told me exactly what they want this time:)

Was the supervillain Doctor Octopus?
I wouldn't say it's too dark. But I can understand they wanted something safer for their main poster. But at least you got to work with them in the future! Give an artist artistic license at your own peril!
hahaha! sadly was'n Doctor Octopus, she was one of the girls. It was an interesting experience and they pay for my trouble but most importantly we found a formula of howto work it the future projects:)
