Illustrated Absurdism

in #art6 years ago

Receive a warm greeting dear reader, I hope you find yourself excellent, with good vibes to the fullest!

Today I will talk about a subject that has exploded the minds of many human beings for centuries ... "the meaning of life", seen from the point of view of "absurdism". To make this publication, I made a series of illustrations that are linked to reading in a creative way, I hope you like this publication.

...And without further ado, let's begin:

Have you ever wondered if what you live in this precise moment is real?
Do you tend to think a lot about the origin of life or of the universe itself?
Do you usually think that life has to have some meaning for everyone?
Can you spend hours thinking things like "And if I'm really dreaming"?
Well ... maybe this post is for you.

Ok, maybe many of the questions I mentioned above are questions that we have all done sometime in life, the mystery that comes with the mere fact of having been born and not only our births but also the experiences after the birth, from a principle we are able to choose what we do, when we do it and how we do it, the freedom that life gives us is as incredible as it is limited, we always talk about a free will, but ... how far does our freedom go? And where does the freedom of other people begin?

This questioning is something that has transcended through time from ancient philosophers to young people who were born with the explosion of the internet .... and today NO ONE has known how to answer it. There are thousands of theories about this and many people have lost their sanity looking for a meaning to his life beyond "being born, growing up, procreating and dying", life is wonderful and it has often been shown that seeking meaning from it only creates an deep introspection.

To enter more in matter, I want to place a phrase of the famous playwright Shakespeare, who says the following:

Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once.

-Shakespeare in Julius Caesar-

Friends, after reading the previous sentence ... tell me what is transmitted to you? Everyone has a way of seeing things for me means you have to live day by day and not let fears keep us from doing the things we want o We have to do it, because fears can make us stop doing too many things that can be beneficial to ourselves.

and you will ask yourself: who the hell is Albert Camus? and I will answer you was a French novelist, essayist, dramatist, philosopher and journalist born in Algeria. The conceptions of Camus were formed under the influence of Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and German existentialism. He contributed to the conformation of philosophical thought known as absurdism. And here I got where I want ... absurdism which is a philosophy that holds that all the efforts made by the human being to find the absolute and predetermined meaning within the universe will ultimately fail because there is no such meaning (at least in relation to man), thus characterized by its skepticism about the universal principles of existence.

The human constantly pursues the principle of reason. Nothing is because "yes." Everything must have a cause or reason that justifies it. In religious thought, such an "efficient" cause is God, who works, in such a conception, as an artisan modeler and a computer of the cosmos. In the atheistic worldview, such a file is prohibited. And in this way, the universe and all entities, whether in their existence or in their essence, are without a motive, cause or why. Among the infinities conceptions about the meaning of life it is interesting to be able to talk about it.

This theory definitely does not seek to explain the meaning of life, but rather, to minimize the anxiety of those who do not sleep looking for the "mysterious and majestic meaning of life". Therefore, it advocates that the meaning of existence is the creation of a particular meaning since life is insignificant by itself, and that the absence of a supreme meaning of human life is a situation of rejoicing and not of desolation, because it means that each individual of the human race is free to mold his life, building his own future.

The Albert Camus philosophical style essay entitled The Myth of Sisyphus, was published in 1942, it poses issues such as suicide, freedom, religion, the thinking of some important writers, among other concepts, from the reflections of the absurdity, which for Camus is a question that determines the existentialist aspects of human beings.

Speaking a bit about the myth of Sisyphe talks about someone who leads a very bad life full of scams and evil deeds who is condemned by the gods to constantly climb a rock up a hill, with the condition that upon reaching the top the rock will fall and Sisifo will have to go back up consecutively through eternity, (be aware dear reader that this is only a very small summary and that you can go to find the myth of Sisyphus to know more).

The concept of the rock that is climbed by the hill within the myth, can be compared to an office job where the person goes every day to do the same thing day after day with the difference that in this case receives a reward that would be the monetary remuneration. In the first chapter Albert Camus tackles the subject of suicide as a matter of philosophical importance, because it is an act in which one recognizes how life is not understood and can overcome the individual, and places man in a world incapable of understanding.

Camus once expressed: A world that we can explain, even with bad reasons, is a familiar world. But in a universe suddenly deprived of illusions and lights, man feels alien. It is an exile without remedy, because it is deprived of the memories of a lost homeland or of the hope of a promised land. That divorce between man and his life, the actor and his set, is properly the sense of the absurd. And as all healthy men have thought about suicide, we must recognize, without further explanation, that there is a direct link between that feeling and the aspiration to nothingness".

existence.png

The human being will never stop questioning things about his existence, because he is essentially curious and hungry for knowledge, but this does not mean that our life should be reduced to the why of life, I personally consider the fact that life has no meaning is more liberating because it gives you more freedom to make your life what you want, thus creating your own "meaning of life" does not mean that we get a "philosophical suicide" if not, rather to accept the absurd and be able to take our lives out.

The life is mysterious and that makes it quite interesting, the fact that it does not make sense at least until now, makes curiosity grow and that humanity in turn advances by leaps and bounds, one of the ways to face the "absurd" is coexisting with it in peace, because in the end life is the only thing we know, take advantage of this little moment to improve and educate people, not climb a rock on a hill for the rest of our lives, we will do this little instant existence that is worth it. Personally, when investigating and illustrating this post I felt an extreme creative freedom, I based myself simply on the almost null sense of life to introduce unicorns, feet that drink coffee and other strange things in these drawings.
