More street art in Da Nang

I still think that @jack.russelle has the better pieces but he shamed me (j/k) into finding some better pieces than I had been posting even though I was actually posting pieces that I admitted I thought were pretty bad.

This doesn't appear to be spray, actually I will go ahead and guess that it definitely is not. There may have actually even been some sort of stenciling involved for the letters and numbers. Who knows. This was found inside of a bar that is called "Simple Man"

Obviously not spray, but was done straight onto the wall so in my mind that qualifies as "street art"... I'm not sure what the official word is on that and I also dont care. I like the way that the name of the bar is featured over and over into the hair on what I guess is their mascot in this place. This was found in a bar called "Vertigo."

Another piece from the same place. It seems to be a theme there to have the words written into the hair on the girl. This was NOT a girly bar by the way, it just was their motif.

Both of these places can easily be found in the My An area of Da Nang. I am starting to realize that the real street art, the stuff that is actually found out on the street, tends to be quite bad here and perhaps this has something to do with the communist government. I wonder if there are extremely harsh penalties for vandalism and this is why we don't see it. Also, the stuff i see indoors tends to be brush work rather than spray which suggest to me that perhaps there is not a good variety of spray colors or caps in this country. I don't know, i've never looked.

Sort:

I think those are all pretty good, but aside from getting tight corners around some moulding, I don't paint.

yeah, i tried my hand at doing this once on an old door (that belonged to me) and it was just awful. I had even watched some videos on technique. Later, I would speak to someone with some real skill at this and he told me that the type of paint and especially the caps were the most important part.

I'm sure having a little bit of skill would probably be useful as well, and I don't have any of that.
