Caption: Dissonance Of Man

Justification:

Mankind, by nature has many conflicting attributes. We value the simple, beautiful things mother earth has to offer.
The beauty of a sunset, the aroma of a flower, the refreshing swallow of glass of water, the mystical moment a new life enters the world, the varying array of flavors the palate experiences from eating. The list goes on. Simple, beautiful things.
The simple things are not enough for our nature.
We are curious beings, forever testing the limitations of our bodies, our minds, and our planet.
Isn't it exciting when mankind achieves new milestones?
In 1879 Thomas Edison created the light bulb.
In 1882 Edward Johnson organized the first coal-fired public power station.
In 1885 Karl Benz invented the first automobile.
In 1913 Henry Ford creates assembly line production.
In 1927 Philo Taylor Farnsworth invents the first television.
On July 20th 1969 Apollo 11 lands on the moon.

It's clear that our curious nature has had an evolutionary effect that is profound. Look at the technology we have today! It's astounding!
The handheld devices that we carry in our pockets today dwarf the computing power that was utilized by Nasa to assist in the moon landing.
We have much to be proud of indeed, but with our achievements, come the daunting reality of our impact on the planet. Global warming is no longer a theory. We now know that we are hurting our planet whilst maintaining our hunger for resources and energy. We are not doing such a great job at confronting the issue either. While we evolve as a species and continue advancing our technology we are confronted with this reality, yet we are not able to stop. It's our nature alone that could potentially lead to our demise, or even, our relocation within the universe. As we progress, we can only hope that our evolution will procure an answer to a very real, and imminent concern.

My interpretation of this was based on the depiction of the beauty of life, the depiction of technology, and the depiction of time. @futuremind
