Digital sculpture "Interrupted knot well spirally"
Here your are this artwork...don't worry for its title.They are always strange.
It is a huge render (12.000x7200 pixel) of a digital sculpture created in modo (3d modeling and rendering package) and rendered in Cinema 4d.Inspired by the very interesting shapes of mathematical knots (in this case 3d math knots).
Lambda print on d-bond 152x91 cm (60x36 in).
Limited edition of nine pieces.
Available also for 3d print in brass,silver,bronze,aluminium,iron,gold,steel and so long.....
Here some close up to see better the details.No photographic texture was harmed...

Glossy and knotted and beautifully put together <3 The lighting makes it look slightly alien seeming. Very nice work :)

What a strange alien artefact! feels like a leftover/skeleton/nut of some organic matter from distant planet.. I love all thedetails, well presented.. Ineteresting how one can almost feel them.. 3d is getting scarely realistic :D Great work man!
How long does it take to make this kind of work?
I would love to see the mathemaical formula of this knot .. could be interesting.

I am really attracted from alien stuff as you can see also in other artworks of mine.
Concerning the time usually I need some days to complete it,sometime only few hours..It depends from many parameters,for example the final resolution.Also the complexity of the material is an important time-consuming factor during the render.For example a transparency and reflective material usually needs more time to calculate.Now the cpu and gpu speed is much, much faster that 10 ago when once I need one week just for a single render!!

Hello @furius ,yes,completely different things but it is just for "exercise"with new stuff for me such as Octane Render and IMM (insert multi mesh),a particular type of brush in Zbrush.
Usually I prefer organic shapes but I want also try to "play"with hard surface..
