Update 01 - Blocking It! #art #artstation #kingarthur #UE4
So first thing first, making a rough modeling iteration on the castle and blocking mountains to shape the scene. I used a procedurally generated rock that I scaled and placed around the scene for quick creation process. When I felt it was right in Blender, I exported it all in Unreal to go further.
Went also to place a landscape actor and sculpted mountains in the surroundings. Normally I sculpt first to block my shapes but I find it to be more time consuming to change terrain relief, that's why I started in Blender with a large mesh. Was faster in my view. I used the A.N.T Landscape addon in Blender for the big mountains in the distance.
Placed a basic sun with appropriate temperature for color and integrated some fog. I also placed water and some fog that I created in the previous challenge so that sped up the creation process.
Now I will go back to the mountains in the foreground and sculpt them. When I'll be somewhat happy with my shapes and the scale of the scene, I will put basic shaders around to block my colors.
