Hi Steemit family!

Life and work of Paul Cézanne

Today I bring you the life and work of one of the most outstanding painters of the XlX century that marks the modernist stage of art although in his artistic career was not highly valued by the different art circles. I'm talking about Paul Cézanne. Come with me to learn more about his life and work.

I represent not only the XlX century but also meant the opening for the new artists of the twentieth century, was a painter with a temperament a little strange and strong enough to be solitary, as he distrusted the circles of fine arts and their ways of handling art. But naturally captivated many painters of the time and later as Picasso who saw him as a great master who paved the way in modern painting.

source

It was not social so what he did more was to visit some nocturnal places where impressionist painters like Monet or Degas frequented while Cézanne did not converse with anyone, in addition as he did not share with anyone few knew his work. He was also a visionary as to the acceptance of Paris as the capital of art before others assumed it.

source

Among the main characteristics of his unique style, he managed to make a perfect fusion between expressionism and naturalism, recurrently using many elements of geometry to compose his paintings, something that very few people, no matter how academicist they used to be, in addition, Cézanne worried more about other subjects that were not the ones that were in fashion. He also used a balanced color palette with very simple colors and sometimes flat colors. Many admire his brushstroke technique as it was almost a way of telling the things that came out of his mind.

source

Another highlight is that the use of geometry led him to experiment with various perspectives and vanishing points, so he is one of the pioneers in the use of the same multi-perspective that would be used for example by Picasso, and other Cubist painters. He used to have a lot of problems with the models he used for his paintings as they had to be long hours and many couldn't stand to be used as non-living beings.

source

His beginnings in the painting were not at all uncomfortable since his family had a lot of money, he received the best education at Bourbon College, where he had top honors for his outstanding presentation in different areas of human knowledge. Although he initially studied law, it was not long after that he decided to change his life by devoting his attention to art that he entered the Swiss Academy of Art, where he had the initiative to investigate by his own means the techniques of great classical painters. In the academy he meets Pisarro an outstanding painter of the time who teaches him more tricks and pictorial techniques, it would be of great help for the new painter and to influence in the use of new colors and motives to represent through the painting.

source

It is probable that Monet is better known than Cézanne in impressionist painting and although I consider that his painting was not impressionist due to the use of concepts very distant from those used by the painters who were dedicated to this aspect of art. So his art marked the difference between the rest of the impressionist partners who were more entertained looking for new palettes of colors that better represented the light on the objects.

I really liked your article. Perhaps the social isolation of his colleagues, allowed him to develop a very particular pictorial style based on an evolution towards the simplicity of color and shapes with lots of light and intensity, very rare in the European artist of the time. The best attribute of Cézanne is to have managed to overcome art to reality, offering us an authentic and most individual work art. Greetings
