Memoir to other artist

in #art6 years ago

Note for newer artist, don't go to events without proper everything, have a sign, have business cards, have prints, have the ability to do commissions, bring a helper, bring snacks, know your cost of the event. Also seek advice from artist if you think you are good, there are people who have done it longer, ask them what you should be doing, ask them about line work, painting, framing, their setup. The worst you can do is never ask. Being an artist sometimes we are used to being told no....so treat everyone you want to ask as if they will say no and you wont be depressed afterward. Learn, if they wont tell you find a youtube channel, get on twitch and ask artist during twitch, PM or DM them the worst they can say is no. It sucks I had alot of people tell me no and not how to get to where i am now but you have to take it as they think your a threat or that they are just generally assholes. It happens but listen we all need to learn from one another but we are all trying to make money. There is no lane for me to stay in and If you wont tell me i can read and listen and watch real well....you should to!

Being proactive is the way to be in today's world. There are so many social platform and ways to reach people but with unlimited access it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. Finding ways to stand out and stay relevant is hard, but being observant and not afraid to ask others for insider knowledge will take you a long way.
