Fingernails; scratching
Sifting, searching,
Aching
For a way out of
This stifling enclosure
That is my skull
Blocking light
Intercepting the sound
Of imagination
Still, glimmers from beyond
And rumblings of others
Spark envy,
While waiting
For an explosion
That will split the joinery
Of this prison
To free my soul,
While waiting
For inspiration
To strike
