Food Porn Day 8: šŸ‡µšŸ‡ŖšŸ‰!!

Happy Year of the šŸ·! So to anyone who doesnā€™t know, I was born and raised in PerĆŗ. Peruvian cuisine has some of the most delicious dishes Iā€™ve ever had (and one of the many reasons why I miss PerĆŗ) but thereā€™s one type of food in particular that I find as addictive as crack: CHIFA! What is Chifa? Chifa is, simply put, Chinese Cantonese elements fused with Peruvian ingredients. Although at first glance it may look like your average Chinese menu, it is not. Iā€™ve had plenty of Chinese food and, trust, it does not compare. For starters, they have ā€œchaufaā€ (comes from the Cantonese ā€œfried riceā€): the most amazing variation of fried rice in the world šŸ¤¤ They also have familiar dishes like wonton soup and golden shrimp, and others that are quite different like ā€œtallarĆn saltadoā€, ā€œpollo cinco saboresā€, and ā€œpollo al tausĆā€. And they make the most addictive friend wontons Iā€™ve ever had. Chaufa (Peruvian/Chinese fried rice) is a dish I grew up eating, and one Iā€™ve made for myself numerous times. Itā€™s simply one of those dishes Iā€™ve yet to come across at a restaurant in the states. But why bother? I know where to find the best: šŸ‡µšŸ‡Ŗ
