“Lucky Koi Fish Bowl Painting #9”

(5 layers of acrylic over 6 layers of Clear Resin)

im on my last piece of this type of art for this batch, made 9 for this batch, and im starting on my next batch and i have 30 this time, with the helpof my sister and some friends who requested im able to have enough supplies to make this art, it takes a week to finish this type of painting because the resin takes 24 hrs to harden, i like this type of resin because its odorless, the ratio for resin and hardener is 1:1, i also bought a polyester type of resin which hardens much faster, but because of the smell i had to stop it for a while, so i guess im sticking with this technique, which is almost the same price with polyester but more suitable for bowls and canvas

Here is my process for this art

gather all the bowls and wash then and when its dry, wipe alcohol in each surface( takes all the debris and grease out) i also applied for the forst layer of resin, and did some experiments, some of it has pebbles some has color

applied and painted the first layer for the koi fish, just the basic shape, it is way more better to have the fins light, just use water on the acrylic and try to make it more transparent, with mine it got a little thick in color but i was able to adjust it in my next layer

im on my 2nd layer of paint, and i would like to show you the brand i use for my resin, its odorless and make sure you have a torch or straw in hand, bec the bubbles easily pop with the torch or blow it with a straw, i prefer torching and even bought a big torch, its way more fun and i don’t know why lol

3rd layer of paint, i also use a shimmering medium to my paint to make it more metallic, and with every layer the paint gets smaller and smaller

4th layer of acrylic but more detail on the top scales, then poured the 5th layer of resin_

final layer of paint and focusing more on the top fins then added some lily pods and lotus flowers and cherry blossom, and topped it with 1 last layer of resin and its all done and it took me a week to finish everything
