“The Black Panther”

( Day 1 progress oil painting)

im painting this art at the same time doing “The Tiger” painting (a remake of my mom’s 40 year old art)
And decided to find a partner that could make a yin and yang symbol with these two cats circling the yin and yang sign

So this is the plan and very positive to finish both this week

Let me show you my process for this art

• First of all i always start by marking the symbol of the flower of life by using a thick gesso with a template that i made when i discovered my love for painting, and also making a light sketch of the subject

• then using black gesso, i painting the whole canvas except the subject
  

• then the next process is a huge tip to some of you that might find this technique useful, i used linseed oil to the whole canvas to make the color blend more easily, and also using a transparent oil paint ( Pthalo Blue) i applied it areas where light would show up.
  
  So i used a titanium white to focus the light areas as where i will either place a flower of life symbol or a full moon, still deciding on that but at least the background is alrealy layed out.

• Lastly i worked on the background and placed the glacier mountian with waterfalls and also add the first dark layer and shadows for ths subject.
  

Now i just need to allow for both my paintings to dry a little overnight, and so far i am very pleased and satisfied with the results.

As you know i paint as a hobby and do it at my spare time, and while im not steeming either i do this or i go to work in the hospital as a nurse, and if not busy raising my 3 kids, i have been posting less lately as been busy with the flow of ideas and once i start a painting theres no turning back till i finish and be satisfied with the results.
