Other Than Photos...
I also love to do charcoal drawings when I travel - it's more physical from the creation aspect, yet easier than pulling out a paint set :-P
I made this image while sitting on a beach in Turkey - in a place called Butterfly Valley where the only place you can sleep is in a tree house. :-)

Wow i love the colours and how they play with each other! Thats awesome that you draw instead of taking pictures of times. As you said, i like that you get more physical with the art in this way!
