Concept Art by Eloh Projects
My Professional Artist's History
Before I set out on my journey as an independent artist I spent 5 years creating concept artwork and environment paintings for the video game industry. Most of my time in the field was facilitated by a small, family owned business, called Freezetag. I valued being able to make my own hours and show up to the office at my leisure, not luxuries I would have had had I been employed by a more mainstream company. That is not to say that our small team of 20 was not interfacing with the rest of the broader industry. Certainly we had professional relationships with Bigfish Games, Activision, and Square Enix and attended E3 as Developers on a yearly basis. Ultimately, most of our team was let go due to strategic errors and financial mismanagement, but my time there was highly enjoyable and instrumental in the playing out of the rest of my career. Upon leaving Freezetag, I was brought onboard Altametrics, a software development company, to create game-ified loyalty programs for McDonald's, Quizno's and Taco Bell. This was clearly not my passion, but the money was great for the year that it lasted. Upon leaving Altametrics I committed myself to pursuing my true passion... creating authentic Art.
Character Design
I enjoyed designing characters, perhaps the most, during my time as a concept artist. Though it was not ever a primary responsibility, I spent considerable amounts of my own time bringing personalities to life. I gravitate naturally toward a more animated, exaggerated style but have since homed in on a bit more realism through a better understanding of human and animal anatomy.
Environment Design
I went to school at the Art Institute of Southern California, Orange County. It was there that I discovered the nearly infinite diversity of environment painting. Though it wasn't my original interest, I found that I had a particular ability to create environments at a decent level rather quickly. After leaving school and working in the game industry full time, environments became my main focus. We worked on a lot of point and click Adventures and Hidden Object style games heavily driven by 2d environment painting. Over the course of 4 years I painted probably 100 environments. Below are a few examples that I still have stored on my various hard drives.
Miscellaneous Concepts
In addition to environment and character design, I have created countless objects, myriad flora and fauna, pages of icons and a vehicle or two.
I have a lot more work out there but most of it is in-game and over the years I have lost or deleted my copies so I am not super keen to purchase them again. But if you want to have a playthrough yourself, I have provided a couple links below.
"Black Forest"- I created all of the environments and maps. Other artists created the UI and Characters.

"Ancient Astronauts"- I created all of the environments and designed a large majority of the gameplay. Other artists created the UI and Characters.

I absolutely love all this stuff though you know!? I love games, I love cartoons, I love your psychedelic art, I love to see any of this stuff being created and especially at such a high level. I think you're fantastic. Is there a space out there for some SUPER PSYCHEDELIC computer games?? I would love to trundle through your landscapes, interacting with things, it would probably eat up the rest of my life! x
Ahh thanks @basilmarples. Definitely got some long term psychedelic games in the works. I can't give you a date because everything is so far away but at some point in the future, yes. So you have a bit more of your life to live before we come to consume it :P
phew thats a relief! Ive still got so much to give! haha
The Ganesh is soo Dope~!!
Yeah its one of those pieces that stands up even though it was made with far less skill. I have a couple of those. My challenge is not trashing old stuff.
Wow - you generously put so much of your work into one post Sean. Thank you for showing your versatility. I have never been a gamer, but remember watching the graphics in amazement in one game played by a friend's son many moons ago. The detail you are able to create is phenomenal, even in the office, with all that fretwork, the carpet, vase - just amazing.
Thank you @ricia. I'm happy you appreciate it. Yes, I have always relied on fine details, admittedly to frequently at points. That being said many of these works would probably look a lot nicer if done again today. But I think they a pretty for what they are.
Cobra Cave.. omg! You are so great at doing the environment design
Thank ya thank ya:)

This is so cool!!! I wish O knew how to do this too 💕💕💕
Practice practice. Start simple and work towards the complex. Know your form, shade, light, perspective etc. and just start drawing. Good luck and I'm glad you like them:)
wow and double wow!
Like it all, but the professor is a fave because he looks like someone I know and worked with, except he was not a professor.
hahaha. Amusing Otto. Thanks for your compliments mister. Have you had any luck bringing friends over?
not so far. a couple are in queue I think. We'll see. By my experience, artists are the strangest - they would sooner throw their money into the maw of a con than join something that is beneficial to them. Not always the sharpest knifes in the drawer.
Hahaha. I know right. They're like "mmm well hmm I don't know.. this is taking some time... hmm seems strange to me:P" We will get them over here one way or the other.
Welcome to steemit! your skills are quite good; having a variety of attention to a plethora of forms really builds up your techniques and creativity. I'm down for seeing more of your psychedelic works in the future :)
Thanks @supernal. Definitely more on the way:)
Ganesha recently came into my life, so it is awesome to see your depiction!
Thank you for sharing your art:D
You're welcome. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Good luck and Cheers!
Really really awesome stuff. And a lot of hard work. One of my favorite video games is a side scroller with painted environments. “Ori and the blind Forrest” have you heard of it?
Yes I have heard of it. I haven't played it but I have listened to the soundtrack many times.:)
