Mandalas of Peace
Rough day today with a big fight, I finally let some anger out by breaking plates and it felt good. The landlord who owns the house came to help me clean up the mess. I thought that was charming and I sent him a text to apologize for making a ruckus; the fact they have animated fights of their own helps. What better way to turn an angry day into a positive evening than by talking about the guided meditation I held last Friday and all the mandalas that followed. Sometimes it is nice to loosen up and let the subconscious do the learning in a playful way. With mandalas and doodling in general, many people find a way to express themselves without getting too attached to the end result.
I invited my group who except for on person who chose to lie down on a yoga mat, to sit on a chair and close their eyes. Starting with the pinkie toe of the left leg, we relaxed every part of the body, letting it feel heavier and heavier all the way to the head. After bringing attention to the third eye, there were visuals about a snowy mountain peak, its verdoyant slopes, the sun, the creeks and an eagle flying serenely in the sky.
It proved very effective to get the group relaxed and attuned to their intuition. I brought some color supplies from the Arts and Craft storage next door from us. These were made in 45 minutes as we drew hands for the first hour.
I hope you know that I am not bragging when I say it felt good to shatter some china but compared to the level of confrontation I was accustomed to in Quebec, the West Coast seems awful tame and for years I have been adapting the these ‘peaceful’ ways. The only thing that matters to me is the dialogue with my lovely partner that followed, it brought us closer.
Sounds like a tough day. Hope today was better! Beautful art
