Things of Beauty

There is a certain comfort in creating something of beauty.

I do not fancy myself to be an artist, but from time to time paints, papers and crafts call to me and l end up with various little projects and trinkets.

These are a product of one creative day, poster paint on hard paper, I used file folders, the light cream colored ones.

Sola

Calm and serene, she is a picture of composure. She has wings like an angel yet there is a certain cloud of darkness.

Looking beyond this though, the brightest light she has got to offer, a light some fails to see as they focus on how she appears to be.

A light that cannot be dimmed by anything.

Luna

She stands in murky soil, unafraid to be consumed by the darkness.

You see, she's seen the light. And the colors and rainbows and butterflies.

She had felt the light.

Many have asked her to walk away, just a few steps and she will be free of the dark.

She chooses to stand her ground.

Because what others have failed to realize is this- where she stands now, it was pure darkness before she came.

Now it is merely murky because of her presence. She stand tall, confident that a little more time and all the darkness will fade away.

And there would only be light and colors and rainbows.

And butterflies.

Sofie

She slept peacefully, shielded from the worries of the world.

Not yet, 'tis still too early for this.

She rests unaware of the wonders she does, the magic her mere presence scatters to the universe- the smiles she had made many a grown-ups wear, the laughters they shared, the warmth she inadvertently spreads in their hearts.

These things she does day in and day out.

For now though, the little angel sleeps with a blissful ignorance of it all.
