Carts&Craft:Drawing and Modling Weapons

in #art7 years ago (edited)

One does not simply call ones self an artist, and I make no such distinctions for myself.

On that bombshell!!

Take a look at my ‘inspired by fantasy’ inventory drawings!

Fantasy Items.jpeg

Using a pencil the items are laid out:

An axe, sheathed in steel, inspired by a typical Dwarven handaxe (the type for taking down doors or small trees); this specimen is hardy, likely used by Dwarven town guard or militia.

The spear: inspired by tribal factions. Well suited to shove into the ground against cavalry, and generally ‘keeping the foe beyond arms reach’. The beaten iron point is tightly bound on with twine.

The shield: this is a particularly narrow model, the steel banding and spike are most similar to a human design, but the curved shape, giving protection to the sides, implies an elven influence. This shield is likely used by mercenaries or rangers, used to having to rely only on themselves.

The scroll: flaked with the passage of time, and bound in a warded leather strap, it’s contents are likely no less potent now then whenever they were first infused into parchement.

An ink redrawing: (with mixed results)

Now the dirty bit.

The conceptualised weapons are realized in hand made, fireside cured, scale versions!
