In Aalborg, Denmark I came across this huge and very colorful mural. It has a lot of details to be carefully studiet. Wonderful to look at the whole painting from a distanse, but just as wonderfull to walk from one end to the other, admiring all the details, trying to work out the meaning. Look at all the small humans placed all over the Mother.

Painted by the spanish artist Okuda, born in Spain in 1980. He has worked with companies such as Kia Motors, Nike, Kellogs and Adidas. He has made murals in Morocco, Italy, India and the United Kingdom.

He works with geometric shapes, colorful patterns and gray bodies that represent the human conditions. Okuda emphasizes the conflict between modernity and human roots. Often his works depict themes such as existentialism, the universe, infinity, the meaning of life, and the false sense of freedom of capitalism.

This mural was painted as part of the We Aart festival 2015. What is WE Art? The festival is a private initiative with Mads Mulvad and Lars Bonde as entrepreneurs. The intention is to make Aalborg's urban environment more exciting and experiential. The festival gets internationally renowned artists to decorate the city. The festival contributes to the art reaching out in the cityscape, to the people and intends to make us reflect on how we use the public space. Not only to travel through, but as a place where you can let yourself be amazed and admire the aspects of the city.

Spectacular works. Thanks for these wonderful photos!

Agree. Check his web site . His has done murals in many places and large cities. I really like his work :)

Really cool! I love all the vibrant colors and geometric shapes.

Agree. Easy recognizable, because of the colors and geometric shapes. I think he stands out from much I have seen.
