Boston Brownstone Painting Complete
This painting took longer than I expected--nearly six months--but, compared to how long it used to take me to paint, that's super quick! I started this one straight onto the canvas after toning the canvas with thinned burnt umber. I recorded myself painting the bulk of the painting, but didn't record the final detailing because it's too complicated to both paint and record. I don't have two cameras, and don't have time to edit videos. You can view the beginning of the painting here:
There are several sessions on my channel, but only this one is time-lapsed, so I recommend it. The rest if you're a glutton for punishment.
Here is an image of the early stages, showing what 20 minutes of work can do:
This painting was challenging, especially since I needed to embellish several parts that were hidden by a car. I also had to add the railing which is no longer there. I had real trouble with the sidewalk. You can see what I went through in these posts:

But, all in all, I'm very happy with how it turned out. The client hasn't seen the finished product yet, and I still need to let it dry and varnish it. I can't wait to see the blacks pop when it's glossy.

AWESOME finished product! You definitely have the right to feel proud. I know your client will love it. Now on to the next..I see your working on to something new. I'll be watching..that sounds creepy. I'll be following along..better. Enjoy your day!
wow thats a looong time brother. paint more!
I sure am trying! It's hard to hold a full-time job and make time for painting. I'm also renovating my house and maintaining a small farm of animals and crops, so it's extra hard. Some day I hope to paint full-time. Until then, Steem away! Thanks for the comment :)
i hear you man! trying to juggle a full time job and painting is quite abig deal. cant imagine ALSO having to care for many animals
It’s amazing how much I get done with just 20 minutes each morning. I can’t imagine having 8 hours free to just paint. Someday I should try that and see how far I get.

Me too- and in this case it’s kind of haunting.
