I believe that plagiarism is when I took a photo from the Internet and said that it is yours.
And if you yourself paint with a brush - it is considered artistic reciprocity.
I think it is impossible to come up with something completely new and original. Anyway, all artists are inspired by paintings by other artists or photographs. And this does not apply to plagiarism at all!
As I noticed in our time, it is very possible to call plagiarism - artistic reciprocity!
Creative reciprocity is not considered plagiarism !!!
Some individuals make artistic reciprocity to be called theft! This is also a mistake.

Material from the Internet should not be posted on Steemit without a source!
If you are inspired by creativity and draw from yourself - this is artistic reciprocity! In this case, the source is not needed! If you draw a portrait also the source does not need.
Learn to see the difference between two not entirely simple concepts like - plagiarism and artistic reciprocity! Then our platform will be successful! I agree plagiarism should be stamped out on the platform and sure people should be allowed to do their own renditions and takes on works but should always credit their sources and inspirations
I think the grey area comes from earning from the work! I don’t know what the answer is there apart from asking the original creator if it’s okay but that seems time consuming and impractical at times
