Mexico Pre-Columbian Cyberpunk (Artistic work by Raúl Cruz)
The Eternal Lady (2014)
The increasingly fashionable steampunk starts from a more sophisticated imagery of Victorian England and 19th-century Europe, creating a new retro-futuristic visual current. But why not take another era and culture as an inspiration for a new kind of science fiction? Said and done: there are those who prefer to embrace other aesthetics to become a source of inspiration for non-existent technologies.
This is the case of Raúl Cruz, aka Racrufi, a Mexican who takes as his starting point the Aztec/Maya aesthetics and extrapolates it to a futuristic world of "wicks", ships and computers. What could you call it? Maya-punk? Aztec-Tech?"
Archaeological recovery (2008)
