#BLOG - “Here is Home” | SOL 831
.
Always on the move, my bicycle Midnight and I hit the streets of Downtown Miami.
.
#Miami has been a place I had called home since I moved here in 1995, though I've never seemed to really appreciate it. In the past several years In cannot deny just how beautiful the city really is. In a stranglehold of traffic, a surging influx of tourists and immigrants from all corners of the world, it's a great many that call this place "home".
.
Looking North on Biscayne Blvd, the historic Freedom Tower can be seen among the brilliant rising towers of glass, steel, and of fresh faces of the future.
.
Passing Magic City Studios Art District on the way Downtown, located in the historic Lemon City (Little Haiti).
.
Dreams in motion are all that makes reality rendered real.
.
This brings me to consider what is really "home". I've found many times me beside myself in many situations, traveling across the country and in the various universe of the Innerspace, sometimes when I'm on the road the best contact I've found is in my thoughts and in a reverie of the beauty of memories. While in the neighborhood, I had a chance to seek out familiar places and spaces. Though now so much has changed, myself included, I'm beginning to ponder the journey and how far I've come, what of the distances crossed.

The legendary music hotspot Churchill's Pub, right on NW 2nd Avenue.
.
Sweat Records, of the last bastions remaining in Miami for record collectors and music aficionados.
.
Design and Architecture Senior High School, where I graduated class of 2007, now graces the beautifully stunning work of famed graffiti artist turned imagemaker Shepard Fairey, otherwise know as OBEY.
.
My Alma mater @dashschool has evolved from humble roots to a world-class premier league school, for now, thousands more talented individuals how have also found a "home" in it's a nursery of dreams. Really, I feel like I grew up here before the world forced itself upon me and age took hold of me, I owe my life to this sanctuary that I believe saved me a broken home filled with crushing doubt and numbing anxiety, those formative years opened a works of possibilities bright with all the potential that exists beyond the horizon. Aspirations are nice and pursuing a dream is wonderful, though in this life we must consider every step in any direction forward just how far will we go before the path may wind. To where do dreamers end up? In the clouds, some now dwell with Gods and the angels, when others fulfill their blessings in the toil of this so-called purgatory. Increasingly I find the worst hell is the one people create for themselves.
.
From the main courtyard within DASH, two towers representing the classical depiction of The School of Athens, the philosophies from Aristotle and Plato concerning divine inspiration that connects us of this Earth to the Heavens.
.
A look inside the hallowed halls of great designers and artists that have previously graduated from my high school. This image in particular is of Alumni Christopher Benjamin that went on to design the Mercedes Mclaren SLR Vision and currently designs for FCA and previously Volvo.
.
Passing glances in the Design District, a look inside and revealed a sneek peek at the future of auto racing: The Robocar.
.
A look at artist Jose Mertz gorgeously delicious mural delightfully melting away in the South Florida sun on Dr. Smood's Creamery in Wynwood.
.
Levi's Haus of Haute Culture, a pop-up arts and design installation in collaboration with Shepard Fairey right at the trailing end of Wynwood's main street.
.
Recently opened, the Museum of Graffiti is the first of its kind, dedicated to the craft of graffiti art, giving voice to the streets of our cities. Finally, a platform officially recognizing artists with the power to provoke and empower the people through vivid colors and an aerosol can.
.
These thoughts today I attempt to reconcile my position between patience and understanding proactively pressing onwards. I figure as I've never found myself in a box, I was always free, it's the box I could have always escape.
