En esta ocasión, me decidí a intentar una de las técnicas que mas me ha costado desde que estoy en este mundo del Arte, Los lápices de colores, A pesar de llevar años dibujando, usar los lápices de colores siempre me aterraba, no me animaba a intentar alguna obra con estos materiales, hasta el día de hoy, inspirado en el libro Dibujando a los Animales, de la Colección Leonardo, la fuente de inspiración mas grande que he tenido estos últimos días, la práctica del día de hoy consistió en dibujar un leopardo sobre una cartulina marrón claro con lápices de colores marca Prismacolor.

On this occasion, I decided to try one of the techniques that has cost me the most since I am in this world of Art, The colored pencils, Despite taking years to draw, using colored pencils always terrified me, did not encourage me to try some work with these materials, to this day, inspired by the book Drawing the Animals, from the Leonardo Collection, the greatest source of inspiration that I have had these last days, today's practice was to draw A leopard on a light brown cardboard with Prismacolor pencils.

El Proceso

The process

Primero esbocé el leopardo con un lápiz HB Faber Castell sobre una cartulina marrón claro, separando las partes donde aplicaría los colores amarillo y blanco, y definiendo los rasgos faciales.

First I sketched the leopard with a HB Faber Castell pencil on a light brown cardboard, separating the parts where I would apply the yellow and white colors, and defining the facial features.

Luego apliqué los colores dominantes, el amarillo y el siena en las zonas del dibujo donde había marcado con el lápiz anteriormente, empezando de izquierda a derecha.

Then I applied the dominant colors, yellow and sienna in the areas of the drawing where I had marked with the pencil before, starting from left to right.

Luego marque con el color negro las manchas del cuerpo del leopardo, antes de aplicar el color amarillo en esta zona para darle mas contraste y que resaltara mas el color negro.

Then mark the spots on the body of the leopard with the black color, before applying the yellow color in this area to give it more contrast and highlight the black color more.

En este punto la obra ya empieza a tomar forma, se distingue mas la profundidad de las luces y las sombras, además de que el cuerpo ya tiene el color base, comencé a pintar el fondo de color verde y algunos tonos de amarillo.

At this point the work begins to take shape, it distinguishes more the depth of the lights and shadows, in addition to the body already has the base color, I began to paint the background green and some shades of yellow.

Para finalizar todo fue cuestión de resaltar los detalles del pelaje y acentuar la textura, además de darle realismo a la cara y los ojos. También fue necesario aplicar algunas partes de negro en la zona del fondo para texturizar el pasto y darle el efecto de realismo.

To finish everything was a matter of highlighting the details of the fur and accentuate the texture, in addition to giving realism to the face and eyes. It was also necessary to apply some black parts in the bottom area to texture the grass and give it the effect of realism.

Acá esta la fuente de inspiración mas grande de los últimos días, Dibujando a los Animales, de la Colección Leonardo, este libro me ha resultado muy útil ya que cuenta en su haber con un contenido muy diverso en cuanto a técnicas de dibujo y anatomía animal.
