Sloth Art Printable

This is my second attempt to draw a sloth after my first one here: Watercolor Art | Bucketful of Sloths. I love the previous painting so much that I offer it as a sloth art printable over in my Etsy shop. The inspiration for my drawing is from this cute image I found in Pixabay.com. I used a lot of public domain images as my reference photos and rarely use copyrighted materials. If I do use them I changed the details so much until there is no trace of the original image. So, I highly encouraged fellow artists out there to source your reference images from the public domain. There are plenty of places to look for those images. Some are well-known sites, but some are not so well-known. I think I will write a post sharing all these resources with you guys sometime soon =)

Okay, as I was looking for a reference image, I stumbled upon some cool facts about sloth. One of it was the fact that sloth had an elephant-sized pre-historic cousin, the great Megatherium. Megatherium or the giant ground sloth lived from the Early Pliocene through the end of the Pleistocene age. That was millions of years ago. I don't know if Megatherium moved slowly like its modern-day cousin. If it did it must be a sight to behold - a terrifying slow moving giant!

The pencil sketch.

I just in love with colorful stuff and I couldn't figure out what colors to use for the background, so I just went ahead with "rainbow" colors. I am using watercolor pencils for the background. The outline was made using Sharpie.
And added groovy doodle patterns...
It's a simple piece of art but I think the result is stunning. I think he makes a great piece of decor in a nursery room, don't you think so? :)
