Toribash!

how tough is your tori?

Toribash is an indie-developed, community-driven online fighting game with a custom built physics engine that lets you have complete control over your gladiator from head to toe.
Though primarily a fighting game at it's core, the gameplay options are endless with a mode maker that gives the creator the tools to build anything they wish, from the wacky at heart to extremely competive. There's already hundreds of modes in the library waiting to be enjoyed alongside the more conventional beat-em-ups, like jousting on the back of a bike/horse monstrosity, or basketball, climbing a mountain, or having a heated debate with a political opponent.

There's a thriving art scene residing on the forums, as well, where skilled creators can sell their hard work making player textures for Toricredits (which have real world exchange value, I forget to mention). Art is valued as a tangible good over there, and buying a texture gives you sole ownership over the imagery to wear or sell as you wish.

If pimping your character out with items and effects isn't your thing, there's often a betting server set up where you can chat with others and put down odds while people go at it, fight club style. Or you can go solo and put it on the line against other skilled players in winner takes all one on one.

The community is made up of the coolest people, from everywhere across the globe and every walk of life. Friends are made all the time in the heat of the dojo, and a guild system helps keep track of your band of merrymakers both ingame and out.

This game has been around for several years, showing some serious staying power, and there's just so much to do on this game once you put in the effort to learn that I can't really fit it into one post.

Certain staff positions are hand selected from the community and maintained independently of the core developers. This is a volunteer job but garners some in-game perks besides the appreciation that they help keep the game a finely tuned machine.

There's also been some mention from the creator himself of some big changes on the horizon. He plans to shake things with an update to many aspects of the game, most notably the introduction of a game cryptocurrency based on blockchain tech.
I think this is a great time to become familiar with all the ins and outs before things get serious! This game is going to shift out of sleepy gear before long!
