I would to share another artwork of mine where I'm most proud off. I never expected that it would turned out this great. This was in fact the second time where I draw a realistic portrait and the first time to do realistic portrait using colour pencils. I started doing this last week where I had a bad nightmare and I wasn't able to sleep. Since, got nothing to do, I did this. I think it was around 3:20 a.m. where I gave colour to the dull and empty portrait of my bestfriend. As you can see in the video, there were a lot of paused moments because I rested for a little while to get a little energy to do this work. I was able to finish this artwork for 2 days and a half. I really don't know the basics in coloring this portrait using colored pencils but I think I did great for a first timer, right?

There is a time lapse video of how I colored and do this piece and I'm sorry if my video was too long. It's original time was way longer but I had it edited and cut. I provided some of my work in process photos so that you can clearly see my progress.

Process

The first thing I did was to edit my reference photo to have it in gridlines. I still used the Artist gridapplication to make my gridlines. Having gridlines help us to have more accurate drawing or sketch.

After that, I started colouring it. I first startef coloring the eyes with light colors likewhite, yellow, yellow-ochre and flesh. In the picture, my friend's skin were yellowish and brown because of the light. In the shading parts, I used different shades of browns, orange and black. I also used pink in some parts to add a little bit of contrast.

For the lips, I also applied lighter colors the shaded some dark colors after.

Asn artist, I do not limit myself for the things I already knew, I venture myself to know and learn more.
