"Rio Chiquito"
Painted on location in the mountains north of Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico.
Most of this subject was in the shadow of a nearby mountain, with the sunlight across the top of the painting.
Rio Chiquito is one of my favorite rivers to paint around Taos. This was done over the course of two afternoons. Luckily, the conditions were the same both days.
