"Light and Shadow"
Painted on location in Oak Creek Canyon, north of Sedona, Arizona.
”Light and Shadow” 20”x24” (#2105) oil on linen canvas by Lee Gordon Seebach
I painted this along Oak Creek, and I was struck by the dramatic, strong morning light in contrast to the shadows. It is rather boldly painted with large brushes and painting knives.
Some thoughts on Steemit:
I post here every day because I love this platform. I'm just a dumb artist so what do I know about the workings of Steemit and the issues involved? Yes, I read some of the posts about various issues folks have with how Steemit's price is down and the other things such as curation guilds, the future of Steemit, and a myriad of other ideas Steemians have about how to improve the platform and make it more accepted. But my eyes glaze over and I start to drool when they start talking in acronyms and terms I'll never understand in a million years. My artist-brain simply doesn't absorb that stuff.
I simply see Steemit as a great place to post my artworks and have people see them and appreciate them. I know of no better place. So where Steemit is going from here, I have no idea. I just keep posting, and why not? It's great posting here and being appreciated by other posters I admire: @gringalicious, @exyle, @countryinspired, @reddust, @ocrdu, @heiditravels, @kevinwong, @mayasky, @marketingmonk, to name just a few. And believe me, I really appreciate all the upvotes and views.
I used to have a Facebook page and a Twitter account, but I deleted them because I don't like how they use people for profit. I started both accounts because I was trying them as ways to get my images out there, get collectors interested, obtain more email newsletter subscribers, and sell my work. In the end, I finally figured that I was getting nowhere fast, and so when Steemit appeared on my radar, I was all over it.
I will continue posting here until the cows come home.
I hope you enjoy seeing this painting.
More to come,
Lee

i like this one!!! great job
@drewsteadmanart... Thanks!
Great post! I completely agree in regards to the whole artist brain situation, haha! And thanks for the mentioning :) I very much enjoy your work and feedback as well @chessmonster! :)
Thank you @mayasky...Nice to know I'm not alone! I guess if I had wanted to understand all that geeky computer stuff, I would have studied computer science and become a computer nerd instead of attending art school to become an art nerd. 😃
I've just recently started dusting off the other social media sites because that's where the bulk of the people are and I'm feeling the need to get as many eyeballs on my content as possible. Steemit will be my primary blogging platform but I hope my jumpstart in those other places will bring more people here.
I can certainly understand that strategy and I'm sure it will work. I just don't want to support those platforms after researching what they do, no matter how much it would help me on Steemit. Good luck with your effort!
